Orchestral Transcriptions/Mockups
If I like a song, my first tendency is to transcribe it into a notation software like Musescore. Unlike arranging, the goal of a transcription is to mimic the original song as closely as possible. Since I don't have a live orchestra at my disposal, this usually just involves getting the right instrumentation and voicing. However, I recently obtained some free orchestral instrument that I can use in Garageband, so I've shifted to using Garageband for these mockups. (the slight difference between a transcription and a mockup for me is that a mockup tries to mimic how the song sounds, while a transcription tries to mimic what the original score might have been like).
Here are some of the songs I've worked on. You'll notice that most of them are OST's from movies, tv shows, or video games. (For some of them, I only did the section I found most interesting at the time, so they aren't always the full song)

This one is less of an exact mockup; I took a few creative liberties here.
