Freight Frenzy
For the 2021-2022 season, the challenge is Freight Frenzy. Robots have to be able to gather and deliver "freight packages", represented by weighted cubes and spheres. They have to deliver it on to platters at different heights, on a wobbly base, and be able to balance the base in the end game. The packages are in a "warehouse" that is accessed by crossing over some barriers.
The challenge has just been announced in mid September, so we are brainstorming ideas.
We will have to redesign our entire drivetrain and chassis to handle the barriers, and rethink how we do odometry. Fun times ahead!

Feb 2022 update: So it turns out that applying to college took way too much time and this season was a bust. We barely competed in the last QT of the season on Feb 19, but couldn't finish 3 of the 6 matches. Anyway, we decided to continue fixing the robot so that we could at least get it a reasonable stage and enter it for the MTI. At least, it would give us intellectual satisfaction that we completed it this year as well. Below is the video for the MTI submission. It's a pity we couldn't do better. We had a nice completely CADed design and everything.
